Tender Mercies

Our family has experienced a splurge of tender mercies from the Lord lately! There may only be 3 really big things that I'm gonna share, but just so you all know, there's also been very many little things that Tyler and I couldn't be more grateful for that are happening in our lives right now.

1-Zumba:
I've been a licensed Zumba instructor for about 10 months now...not really sure what I was supposed to do with it or even if I was going to take it anywhere. I pay a monthly fee to keep my license from expiring and receive all sorts of fun stuff to help me promote and do classes, but with school and just every day busy life, I really haven't had the chance to do anything with it like I've wanted. I'd been contemplating for a while to just end my membership and when the year came, my license would expire. Where I didn't have the time to put into it right, I had told Tyler multiple times that I was going to just cancel it but never got around to it. Then the weekend we had really talked about it and I had decided to cancel it all, I get this email from a professor up at USU that was needing my help with a Healthy Lifestyle Benefit her students were putting on.

Tyler was able to snap some pictures :)
They wanted ME to host and instruct a class! Really now!? Just when I thought I was giving up...the Lord had something else in mind. I had so much fun teaching my first class! It was definitely a lot of work though...the professor had contacted me on Thursday night and I had to come up with a playlist and routine around 45 minutes by Tuesday night. Not to mention that Tyler and I were going down to Salt Lake for the weekend so I basically had Sunday and Monday to prepare. Tyler had a blast listening to all my Zumba music just about 24/7 for 3 straight days...:) I guess the Lord wasn't gonna let me give up just yet. So now my plan is to hopefully find something this summer where I can teacher on a regular schedule (since I might actually have time!) and then continue teaching in the Fall when we return from Colorado. It may seem silly to some of you, but it ended up being one of those things that you know just came from somebody above. I'm truly thankful for the opportunity to open my eyes to something I could potentially really love doing!

2-Mexico Familia:
Tyler has kept in contact with a dear family from his mission that was very close to him. They were members that just always took the best care of him and his companions. They had the opportunity to come to Utah for General Conference weekend and they even made the trip up to Logan to spend Friday afternoon with us! There was 16 of them that traveled across the scary border to the U.S. and only one of them speaking fluent English. The dad works in Texas just about everyday and travels back and forth across the border so he is very good at speaking and understanding English. One of the teenage girls attends school in Texas as well to learn English so she understands a lot of it and speak quite well, but was too shy to really ever do so. There was a lot of Spanish rambling going on that Tyler's parents and I had no clue what they were saying, but it was still such a fun and neat experience.

Apparently, there were many things that went wrong and the family almost gave up trying to come to Utah. But I'm sure with the helping hand of the Lord, they were able to make it. And boy am I so glad they came! Although I could hardly understand any of them, they had such a strong spirit that they brought with them. A bunch of truly humble and kind people that don't come around too often. We were able to have a little barbecue out at Tyler's parents and show them around the farm. Lots of laughs, mumbled English and Spanish from both sides, as well as tears were shared that day. It was an incredible experience to be a part of! They were such a huge part of Ty's life and I've heard so much about them that it was so neat to be able to finally put a name with a face and get a sense of what genuine people they are. (Unfortunately I didn't have my camera so I wasn't able to take any pictures, but Lori did so I'll have to snag some from her and post later :) ) I will be forever grateful to the Aguirre family for taking such good care of Tyler while he was on his mission and being such great examples to not only him but now me!

3-Our Townhome:
This is a BIG one.

We  have been in search of someone to rent our townhome for the summer while we are gone this summer so that we didn't have to move out and worry about finding somewhere new when we return. However, we have had no such luck! Finally, we had decided that we were just going to call our landlord and tell her our situation and try to get out of our contract a month early. Well, we could only get out of our contract early if we found someone to take over in May, otherwise we'd be stuck in it until June. Great! Just our luck...we're horrible at finding people. So she told us to call her back in the morning and let her know what we wanted to do. BUT get this...the next morning, she calls Tyler and not only do we have one option we have TWO!!

A girl had called her looking for someone to rent for the summer and was worried because they didn't have a lot of furniture or things so was there anything she had available. This could not have turned out to be a more perfect situation. We are now able to leave all our furniture (minus our bed) here for them to use and have our place to come back to after summer. Talk about a gift from God. I am still in awe over the situation! We have truly been so blessed and I am so happy we found the perfect couple to live in our townhome. I'm still a little iffy on leaving all my important stuff, including the place I live, to someone else for 4 months, but I don't think we could've found a nicer couple.
She has been going to school in Provo and her fiancĂ© lives here in the Valley. Um perfect situation for us, right?! Don't worry, she also tells Tyler that she had another call from a girl that they were looking to start renting in May. Really now?! We had two options right open and available for us to take. Tyler immediately called me and we both knew we'd be crazy to not meet the cute girl and her fiancĂ© who wanted to live somewhere just for summer. It has ended up being just what we needed.

As you can see, this Munk household has been full of tender mercies from the Lord! Our lives have truly been blessed and my heart couldn't be more full of gratitude right now! Isn't it amazing how the Lord works sometimes?! :)

We are as happy as can be
